Assigning Computer Profiles to Computers

When you assign computer profiles to computers, the packages, hardware jobs, and computer properties are automatically executed on the computers. The package parameters that you set, either when you added the package to the profile or when you assign a profile to computers, are applied to the computers. Settings you make when you assign the package override the parameter settings made when you added the package to the computer profile.

Note: When a profile is assigned to a computer, the hardware jobs are assigned first, before the packages. If you decide to cancel the operation during the installation of the packages, the package installation is cancelled but the hardware jobs remain on the computer.

To assign computer profiles to computers

  1. In the Scope pane, click Computer Profiles to display the profiles in the Result pane.

  2. In the Scope pane, expand All Computers.

  3. In the Result pane, select a computer profile and drag it to a computer or computer group in the Scope pane.  Ctrl-click to select multiple profiles.

The Assign Profile dialog box appears. Then a Managing package jobs activity is started and the execution of all of the packages, hardware jobs, and computer properties in the profile is initiated.
