Build-and-Install Process Overview

Building and installing your target system requires the following procedures. (For a specific procedure, click the appropriate hyperlink.)

  1. Set the target media and repository path, and then verify those settings every time you build a configuration.
  2. Check the dependencies.
  3. Resolve any existing dependencies or conflicts.
  4. Build your configuration.
  5. Install directly to the target system, to a temporary location on your hard disk, or on media to transfer to your embedded system later.
    Note   Target paths are global for each copy of Target Designer.
    In the All Nodes pane, a configuration is represented by a folder and computer icon.
