After you complete your build, you can install your target system on one of the following:
The target media | You can install directly on a hard disk, optical disk, removable disk, or flash disk. |
A temporary directory | You can then later copy your system to the target media. |
If you install directly on the target media, you must first format the media by using a Windows NT system and either Microsoft WinDisk or the Microsoft Windows NT format utility.
During the install process, all files that make up the configuration, including registry hives, are copied to the specified target directory.
The install process results in a bootable target system in the specified target path.
Caution Do not format partitions on your development system because it will destroy data.
To install your configuration

Note You can install directly to target media that has been formatted by using WinDisk or the Windows NT format utility. If you install directly to the target media, you must install your system in the c:\\ directory to resolve registry entries. |
