Ultrasound installation consists of installing the console and controller, either together as a complete installation or on separate servers as a custom installation. Before you can install and run Ultrasound, however, you must first install MSDE or SQL Server 2000 with SP3a. This installation is separate from the Ultrasound installation, allowing you to manage the database and apply SQL security updates and other service packs as they become available. The provider installation is also a separate procedure that is performed after the console, controller, and database are installed.
