These actions enable you to incorporate LANDesk Management
Suite's system management functionality with Process Manager.
LANDesk system management actions are described below.
Note:
For all LDMS actions, Core credential set is a required
value, and should be the first attribute you fill in. If you select
a field to set up the integration with an LDMS core, make sure the
field is mapped to a Listener value that matches the Display name
you provided for the LDMS core in the Process Manager database
utility.
Add device to scheduled task
This action enables you to add a device to an existing scheduled
task. When the action occurs in the course of a process, the
designated scheduled task is updated to include the device
specified here.
Device name: The device to add to the
scheduled task (see "Inserting fields").
IP address: The IP address of the device to
add or delete (see "Inserting fields").
Task Id:The ID assigned to the selected
LANDesk distribution task.
Add/delete device
This action enables you to add or delete devices. When the
action occurs in the course of a process, the designated devices
are added/deleted from the inventory of the LANDesk Management
Suite core server.
IP address: The IP address of the device to
add or delete (see "Inserting fields").
IP name: The fully-qualified name of the
device to delete. For example: computer.landesk.com. (see "Inserting fields").
MAC address: The MAC address of the
device.
Deploy agent to unmanaged device
This action enables you to deploy agents to an unmanaged
devices. When the action occurs in the course of a process, a
scheduled task is created in LANDesk Management Suite and run in
order to deploy the agent configuration package to one or more
unmanaged devices.
Unmanaged node's ID: The unmanaged device (see
"Inserting fields". This is
usually provided by the event listener.
Reschedule task
This action enables you to reschedule a task. When the action
occurs in the course of a process, a scheduled task is created in
LANDesk Management Suite and executed.
This action enables you to schedule the distribution of a
package. When the action occurs in the course of a process, a
scheduled task is created in LANDesk Management Suite and the
package is distributed.
Query name: A query used to return the devices
to receive the distribution package (see "Inserting fields").
Success percentage:
The percentage of devices that have to receive the distributed
package in order for the action to be successful.
Schedule provisioning template
This action enables you to initiate a task based on a LANDesk
Provisioning template. When the action occurs in the course of a
process, the specified LANDesk Provisioning Template task is
executed.
Device name: The name of the device to run
this action against. If both the device name and the query name are
specified, the device name will take precedence (see "Inserting fields").
Query name: The query name to run this action
against. If both the device name and the query name are specified,
the device name will take precedence (see "Inserting fields").
Scheduled task name: the name to assign to the
scheduled task created by this action.
Success percentage: The percentage of devices
that must be successfully provisioned in order for this action to
be successful.
Template ID: The LANDesk Provisioning Template
ID.
Template name: The name of the LANDesk
Provisioning Template to schedule. (If an explicit value is
selected for the Template name, the Template ID will be populated
automatically.)
Schedule script
This action enables you to schedule a LDMS script. When the
action occurs in the course of a process, a scheduled task is
created in LANDesk Management Suite and the script is executed.
Script name: The script to execute. The script
name must match an existing script on the LANDesk Management Suite
core server (see "Inserting fields".
Script type:
Specifies whether to execute an existing script or the script where
some of the details have been modified, such as values, fields, or
a combination of the two.
Success percentage: The percentage of devices
that have to execute the script in order for the action to be
successful.
Set machine data
This action enables you to set the machine data for devices.
These attributes are inserted into the database and expand the
inventory information for all devices. When the action occurs in
the course of a process, it causes LANDesk Management suite to set
the machine data, which adds the designated attributes to the
inventory of the LANDesk Management Suite core server.
Attribute Value: Inserts any proper value for
the LANDesk inventory key. The proper value is dependent on the
type of key. A string key is any string value including
special characters. An integer key is any whole number. A date key
is any recognized date format like mm/dd/yy or mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm:ss
(see "Inserting fields").
Device Name: The device to have the machine
data set (see "Inserting fields").
Fully Qualified Attribute: Must be a full
LANDesk BNF string. For example "Computer"."LANDesk
Management"."Workflow_Key." (see "Inserting fields").
Set product license
This action enables you to assign additional product licenses.
When the action occurs in the course of a process, it causes
LANDesk Management Suite to add one or more product licenses to the
designated product.
License Number: The number of product licenses
(see "Inserting fields").
Note: If the license number, product group,
and product match up to an existing license, that license takes on
or adds any new values. Otherwise, a new license is created under
the existing product group and product.
License Type: Provides a valid product type
numbers (see "Inserting fields"):
Product: An existing product that is in the
specified product group (see "Inserting
fields").
Note: See the License Number note above.
Purchase Date: The purchase date of the
product’s license in any recognized date format, such as mm/dd/yyyy
or mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm:ss (see "Inserting
fields").
Quantity: A whole number for the number of
product licenses (see "Inserting fields").
Reseller: The name of the reseller of the
product (see "Inserting fields").
Serial Number: The serial number of the
product (see "Inserting fields").
Unit Price: A whole number for the amount of
the product (see "Inserting fields").
