You need to install WMI Core 1.5 on all your
Windows 9x/NT client computers. You can do this manually if you
want, or you can automate the process by using Console tasks. This
section describes how to set up the tasks that you use to install
WMI Core 1.5 to your client computers.
You need to set up a task for installing to NT 4.0
computers, and a separate task for installing to Windows 9x
computers.

In the Machine Groups folder, create a new
computer group.
|
Give the new group a suitable name,
such as Install NT4 or Install 9x.

Copy into the new computer group all the
computers to which you want to install WMI Core 1.5.
|
Ensure that you are only choosing
clients running the appropriate operating system for the group.

In the Tasks folder, create a new task.

In the Properties for New Task window, on the
General tab, under Task Steps, check the following:

In the Target Machine Group box, click
Browse and then select your new group: Install
NT4, or Install 9x, whichever is appropriate.

On the File Transfer tab, click Add.
|

Browse to the installation directory (the
default is C:\Program Files\Symantec\Ghost), and select the
ClientInstall folder.
|

In the ClientInstall folder, select the
appropriate file:

- wmint4.exe, if you are installing to NT 4.0 computers
- wmi9x.exe, if you are installing to Windows 95, 98, or 98SE
computers.

Click Open.

In the Source window, click Next.
|

|
In the Destination window, select Ghost Incoming Directory.

Click Finish.

On the Command tab, in the Command box, type
the appropriate executable name:

- Incoming\wmint4.exe, if you are installing
to NT 4.0 computers
- Incoming\wmi9x.exe, if you are installing
to Windows 95, 98, or 98SE computers.

In the Arguments box, type /s.
|

Click Add.

Click OK to save the
task.

Execute the task.
