On the Ethernet Devices tab, select an
adapter or team. Click the adapter or team to select or deselect
it. When an adapter or team is selected, it is highlighted.
Click Properties.
Select the Information tab.
Adapter information options are read only and
include:
Media
State. The connection state of the adapter.
Connected. Adapter is functioning
properly.
Wire
Fault. Cable fault occurred on the adapter.
Unknown. Unable to communicate with the
driver on the installed adapter.
Failed. Hardware failure on the
adapter.
Teamed
Status. The status of the adapter with respect to a team.
Available. The team member is functioning
normally.
Not
Teamed. The adapter is not part of the team.
Unknown. The team member's status could not
be determined.
Wire
Fault. The member does not have link.
Not
Joined. The member cannot be joined in the team because it
has an incompatible setting. The most likely cause is changing a
parameter for a team member using the Local Area Connection
property sheet.
Degraded (Rx
Path). The team member is not receiving packets and no
other team member is receiving packets. Because all team members
are equal, the team member is still in use by the team.
Degraded
(Multiple). The team member has multiple degraded
conditions.
Failed
(LACP). The team member failed to establish a LACP
channel.
Failed (LACP
Standby). The team member is failed because the team has
more members than the switch supports in the LACP protocol. The
port is blocked by the switch.
Failed (Rx
Path). The team member is not receiving packets.
Failed (Tx
Path). A failure occurred while attempting to send a
packet on the team member.
Failed
(Multiple). The team member has multiple failed
conditions.
Current
Speed/Duplex. Indicates the current operating speed of the
adapter in Mbps or Gbps and if the adapter is operating at half or
full duplex, or if it is disconnected.
Current MAC
Address. The burned-in MAC Address or a Locally
Administered Address (LAA) assigned by the System Administrator or
NCU for a specific network configuration. In a teamed environment,
the Current MAC Address must
not be locally administered.
Burned-in MAC
Address. 6-Byte, Layer 2 address of the adapter that is
assigned by the manufacturer. Typically, one of the Universally
(Globally) Administered Addresses assigned in ranges to different
organizations. This address is also referred to as a Burned-in
Address or permanent address.
For HP BladeSystem c-Class Virtual Connect
users, the Burned-in MAC Address reports the HP-Assigned MAC
Address as assigned in the Virtual Connect Server Profile.
Detailed Information:
Driver
Name. Name of the adapter driver (for example,
N1E5132E.SYS).
Driver
Version. Current driver version number (for example,
9.7.38.0).
VBD Driver
Version. Current Virtual Bus Driver version (for example,
3.0.3.0)
Bootcode
Version. Current bootcode version (for example, 1.9.6).
This field is displayed only if the adapter firmware is
upgradable.
Connection. The number that corresponds to
the instance of the selected adapter in the NCU. If the user
renames the connection to something other than the Local Area
Connection number, a question mark (?) is displayed.
Physical
Layer. Port physical type (for example, 10/100/1000BASE-T,
10GBase-XFP, 10GBase-CX4 and so on).
Modular
Device. Indicates whether the device is an upgrade
module.
Bus
Number. PCI, PCIe, or PCI-X bus number.
Bus
Type. PCI, PCIe, or PCI-X for all supported adapters.
Bus
Speed. PCI, PCIe, or PCI-X bus speed. For example, 100
MHz.
Bus
Width. PCI, PCIe, or PCI-X bus width. For example,
8x.
Slot
Number. Slot in which the adapter physically resides. HP
BladeSystem servers report an I/O bay number instead of a slot
number.
I/O Bay
Number. Switch in enclosure to which the adapter is
connected. Non-HP BladeSystem servers report a Slot Number instead
of an I/O Bay Number.
Port
Number. One-based port number for multiport adapters.
Memory
Address. Memory-mapped I/O address.
DHCP (Dynamic
Host Configuration Protocol). The adapter is configured to
receive an IP address from a DHCP server. If the adapter has a
statically-configured IP address, a value of "Disabled" appears.
Also, if IP is not bound to the team or the adapter, this property
does not appear.
DHCP
Server. The IP Address of the DHCP Server. If the adapter
has a statically configured IP address or if IP is not bound to the
team, this property does not appear. If the adapter is part of a
team, this property does not appear but is shown on the Team Information tab.
IP
Address. The IP address of the local system.
IPv6
Address. The IPv6 address of the local system.
Flow
Control. Specifies the type of flow control that is
needed.
Team Member
ID. The team member numerical identifier for the adapter.
The valid range is 0-7. If the adapter is not teamed, this property
does not appear.
Aggregation
Group ID. The team member group identifier for the
adapter. The valid range is 0-7. If the adapter is not teamed, this
property does not appear.
Transmit MAC
Address. If the adapter is a member of a team, this is the
MAC address used for transmitting. If the adapter is not teamed,
this property does not appear.
Connection
Name. The name of the local area connection.
TCPIP Bound
To. This property displays one of following values:
Physical Adapter—TCPIP Layer is bound to
this adapter.
Virtual Machine—TCPIP Layer is bound to
Virtual Machine. If this value displays then:
The DHCP, DHCP Server, IPv4 Address, and
IPv6 Address properties are not shown.
The VLAN button is disabled.
The VLAN tab is not shown.
The Team button is disabled.
This property displays only on Windows 2008
x64 and above version operating systems, and when Hyper-V is
installed.
