Team Information tab

Information appearing on this tab varies based on the team selected and the properties that are set.

1. On the Ethernet Devices tab, select a team.
2. Click Properties.
3. Select the Information tab.

   

Team Information options are read only and include:

• Current Mode. Displays the current team type. See Teaming Controls tab for more information about team types.
  • If Automatic is the selected team type one of the following displays:
    • 802.3ad Dynamic with Fault Tolerance
    • Transmit Load Balancing with Fault Tolerance (TLB)
    • Channel-based Transmit Load Balancing
  • 802.3ad Dynamic with Fault Tolerance
  • Switch-assisted Load Balancing with Fault Tolerance (SLB)
  • Transmit Load Balancing with Fault Tolerance (TLB)
  • Transmit Load Balancing with Fault Tolerance and Preference Order
  • Network Fault Tolerance Only (NFT)
  • Network Fault Tolerance Only with Preference Order
• Speed/Duplex. The current speed and duplex mode of the team.
  • 100/half
  • 100/full
  • 1000/full
  • 5000/full
  • 20000/full
  • Mixed displays if team members are configured differently.
  • Disconnected displays if there is no link.
• Team State.
  • OK. Team is functioning properly and all adapters in the team are in a connected state.
  • Disabled. Team has been disabled.
  • Redundancy Reduced. At least one adapter in the team is not functioning properly, but at least two adapters in the team are functioning properly.
  • Redundancy Lost. Only one adapter in the team is functioning properly.
  • Failed. All adapters in the team have failed.
  • Unknown. The state of the team cannot be determined.

Detailed Information.

• Current MAC Address. Burned-in MAC Address of the Primary adapter or the user-specified Locally-Administered Address (LAA), if any. When a failover occurs, the current network address (as well as the IP Address) for the team remains constant.

  For HP BladeSystem c-Class Virtual Connect users, the Burned-in MAC Address reports the HP-Assigned MAC Address as assigned in the Virtual Connect Server Profile.

• Driver Name. Name of the teaming device driver.
• Driver Version. Current device driver version number.
• Team ID Number. Zero-based number that uniquely specifies the selected team.
• Team Connections. The number that corresponds to the instance of the selected adapters in the NCU. If the user renames the connections to something other than the Local Area Connection numbers, question marks (?) display.
• Primary Connection. The local area connection number of the Current Primary adapter selected by the team.
• DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol). The team is configured to receive an IP address from a DHCP server. If the team has a statically-configured IP Address, a value of "Disabled" is displayed. Also, if IP is not bound to the team, this field does not appear.
• DHCP Server. IP address of the DHCP server. If the team has a statically configured IP address or if IP is not bound to the team, this information does not appear.
• IPv4 Address. The IPv4 address of the local system.
• IPv6 Address. The IPv6 address of the local system.
• Connection Name. The name of the local area connection.
• TCPIP Bound To. This property displays one of following values:
  • Physical Adapter—TCPIP Layer is bound to this adapter.
  • Virtual Machine—TCPIP Layer is bound to Virtual Machine. If this value displays then:
    • The DHCP, DHCP Server, IPv4 Address, and IPv6 Address properties are not shown.
    • The VLAN button is disabled.
    • The VLAN tab is not shown.
    • The Team button is disabled.
  • This property displays only on Windows 2008 x64 and above version operating systems, and when Hyper-V is installed.

Team Members. Team members are listed in order by Group ID and then by Team Member ID.

• LAC. The name of the local area connection.
• Port Type. Adapter model number of the port.
• Bus/Slot/Port. The bus, slot, and port location of the team member. A port location of 1 is not reported and is left blank. The Team Members Bus/Slot/Port category changes to Bus/IO Bay/Port for HP BladeSystem servers.
• Speed/Duplex. The current speed and duplex mode of the team. Mixed displays if all team members do not match.
• Team Member Status. Displays the status of the member within the context of the team.
  • Available. The team member is functioning normally.
  • Not Teamed. The adapter is not part of the team.
  • Unknown. The team member's status could not be determined.
  • Wire Fault. The member does not have link.
  • Not Joined. The member cannot be joined in the team because it has an incompatible setting.The most likely cause is changing a parameter for a team member using the Local Area Connection property sheet.
  • Degraded (Rx Path). The team member is not receiving packets and no other team member is receiving packets. Because all team members are equal, the team member is still in use by the team.
  • Degraded (Multiple). The team member has multiple degraded conditions.
  • Failed (LACP). The team member failed to establish a LACP channel.
  • Failed (LACP Standby). The team member is failed because the team has more members than the switch supports in the LACP protocol. The port is blocked by the switch.
  • Failed (Rx Path). The team member is not receiving packets.
  • Failed (Tx Path). A failure occurred while attempting to send a packet on the team member.
  • Failed (Multiple). The team member has multiple failed conditions.
• Switch System ID. The system ID of the switch connected to the port. The team must be connected to a switch with LACP enabled and have one of the following team modes:
  • Automatic
  • 802.3ad Dynamic Dual Channel
  • 802.3ad Dynamic with Fault Tolerance
• Port/Path Cost. The port and path cost of the team member. If the member is connected, the port cost displays. If the member is not connected, "Disconnected" displays.
• Role. The current role of the team member. Role values include:
  • None. Team member is not eligible for assignment.
  • Tx/Rx. Team member is assigned to transmit and receive data.
  • Tx Only. Team member is assigned to transmit data.
  • Standby. Team member is eligible for assignment but not currently being used.

  For a team type of Transmit Load Balancing, all team members that share the highest transmit speed are active members of the team. The team member that joins the team first has the role of Tx/Rx and all other active members have the role Tx only. Any other members of the team have a status of Available and a Role of None.

  For a team type of Transmit Load Balancing with Preference Order, the team member selected for the Preference Order has the role of Tx/Rx. Any team member with a transmit speed equal to or greater than the team member selected for Preference Order has a role of Tx only. All other members have a status of Available and role of None.

• Group ID. Aggregation group ID.
• Member ID. Team member ID.
• Transmit MAC Address. The team member MAC Address used for transmitting packets.

Controls:

• OK. Saves your settings and returns to the Ethernet Devices tab.
• Cancel. Closes the window without saving your settings and returns to the Ethernet Devices tab.
  • Help. Launches the context-sensitive NCU Help file.
