The Add External Fields panel lets you add the fields that have no reference to entity schema. The data for the external fields is not collected from the entity schema. If you add external fields, you need to create a CSV file to import the data for the external fields.

You can use the Add option to add a new field and the Remove option to remove the external field from the asset type.
