Deploy OS and System Packages to a Single Computer

After you have added a computer and defined its formatting and partitioning settings, you must either:

Before you begin deploying packages, you should adjust the Package Deployment settings in the CCM Activities Properties dialog box. These settings, where possible, control the automatic execution of package deployment.

To install the operating system and CCM network packages:

  1. In the Scope pane, expand the Server Name item, then expand the Packages item.

TIP: You can open a secondary window so you can drag packages from it to a computer group in the main window. In the Scope pane, right-click the Packages item and choose New Window from Here.

  1. In the Scope pane, expand the Computers item.

  2. Expand the <All Computers> item to display all CCM computers on the server and scroll to display the computer to which you want to deploy the package.

TIP: You can expand the computer item in the Scope pane to see the list of packages already installed on it.

  1. In the Result pane of either the main window or the secondary Packages window, select the operating system package you want to deploy.

CCM sets the Managing Package Jobs Activity to Done. The jobs will be executed the next time the computer polls the CCM server, either during its specified Action period or when the job is explicitly pushed.

NOTE: If you are setting up a Cooperative Mode computer, you must manually install the CCM Windows Agent on the computer making sure that the CCM Windows Agent parameter value settings are identical to those that you just set here.
