The Local Group object is useful in adding and deleting users from groups. It also supports enumeration of users in a group. Using the IADsContainer interface on the Computer object, an Administrator can copy a local group from one computer, server, or domain to another with all the correct memberships retained. This is especially useful when the Administrator has given rights on a resource (say a printer) connected to a Print Server and the printer is moved from one domain to another. In this case, the Administrator can copy the local group from one Server to another retaining all the proper memberships. You can also add domain groups and users to the local group.
The object supports these interfaces:
IADsGroup: The default interface for this object. Can be used to get or set group properties, add or remove users to or from a group, and check whether a given user is a member of a group or not.
IADs: Can be used to get some basic properties (such as name, class, and parent) of an object.
IADsMembers: Can be used to enumerate non-container objects like Groups.
ISecurityIdentifier: Can be used to get the SIDs of the Domain, Computer, Local Group, Global Group, and User objects.
