Preparing IDR media by using other media servers

When running the IDR Preparation Wizard, the local computer where the IDR option is installed is used by default to create or update the disaster recovery media. However, if the computer does not have the IDR option installed locally, you can select another media server on which the IDR option is installed in order to create or update the media.

To perform disaster recovery preparations on a different media server

  1. On the Tools menu, click Wizards> Intelligent Disaster Recovery Preparation Wizard.

  2. On the IDR Preparation Wizard Welcome screen, click Choose a media server that has the IDR option installed, and then click Next.

  3. Click Browse to browse the network and select a media server that has the IDR option installed.
