Distribution describes the process by which content is
transmitted from one computer to another. You can use the following
types of distribution with Windows Media Services:
Server-to-server distribution. This occurs when a
publishing point on your server acts as the content source for a
publishing point on another Windows Media server, which then
transmits the content to players that request it.
Push distribution. This occurs when an encoder initiates
a broadcast and then uses a publishing point on a Windows Media
server to transmit the content to the players that request it.
Pull distribution. This occurs when a server initiates a
connection to an encoder to receive a content stream and then
transmits the content to the players that request it.
