After the prerequisites are met for creating a component definition file, you can define a component by performing the following steps:
- Using Component Designer, create the component definition file for the new component to be added to the Target Designer system database.
- Set properties for the component definition file.
- Using component definition file sections, define the component, associated capability, support files, and dependencies.
- Add comments to the component definition file, if necessary.
- Save the component definition file.
- Using Target Designer, import the component definition file.
