You can import and export configurations to make them portable between databases or development systems. Multiple development systems can then use the same configuration.

Important   Before you import a configuration that has custom components from another development system, you must do the following:
  1. Copy the component definition file that has the custom components to your development system, or gain access to it through the network.
  2. Import the component definition file into Target Designer on your system.

    To import an exported configuration

    1. On the Configurationmenu, click Import.
    2. In the list box, click the file name of the appropriate configuration.
    3. Click Import.
Note   A previously exported configuration is imported with its original name and placement in the All Nodes pane.
A configuration file name includes the .cfg extension.

To rename a configuration or collection

      1. In the All Nodes pane, right-click the appropriate configuration or collection, and then click Rename.
      2. Type the new name, and then press ENTER.
