You can import and export collections to make them portable between databases or development systems. Multiple development systems can then use the same collection.

Important   Before importing a collection that has custom components from another development system, you must do the following:
  1. Copy the component definition file that has the custom components to your development system, or gain access to it through the network.
  2. Import the component definition file into Target Designer on your system.

    To import an exported collection

    1. On the Configurationmenu, click Import.
    2. In the list box, click the file name of the collection to import.
    3. Click Import.
Note   Target Designer adds the name of the imported collection to the All Nodes pane.
When you import a previously exported collection, it returns to its original name and place in the All Nodes pane.
A collection file name includes the .cix extension.

To rename a configuration or collection

      1. In the All Nodes pane, right-click the appropriate configuration or collection, and then click Rename.
      2. Type the new name, and then press ENTER.
