You can import and export collections to make them portable between databases or development systems. Multiple development systems can then use the same collection.
Important Before importing a collection that has custom components from another development system, you must do the following:
- Copy the component definition file that has the custom components to your development system, or gain access to it through the network.
- Import the component definition file into Target Designer on
your system.
To import an exported collection
- On the Configurationmenu, click Import.
- In the list box, click the file name of the collection to import.
- Click
Import.
Note Target Designer adds the name of the imported collection to the All Nodes pane.
When you import a previously exported collection, it returns to its original name and place in the All Nodes pane.
A collection file name includes the .cix extension.
To rename a configuration or collection
- In the All Nodes pane, right-click the appropriate configuration or collection, and then click Rename.
- Type the new name, and then press ENTER.
