This method provides access to the parent texture (mipmap) object, if this surface is a child level of a mipmap.

Syntax

HRESULT GetContainer(
  REFIID
riid,
  void**
ppContainer
);

Parameters

riid

[in] Reference identifier of the container being requested.

ppContainer

[out] Address of a pointer to fill with the container pointer if the query succeeds. See Remarks.

Return Value

If the method succeeds, the return value is D3DM_OK (see D3DM Values).

If the method fails, the return value can be D3DMERR_INVALIDCALL (see D3DMERR Values).

Remarks

If the surface is created using IDirect3DMobileDevice::CreateImageSurface, IDirect3DMobileDevice::CreateRenderTarget, or IDirect3DMobileDevice::CreateDepthStencilSurface, the surface is considered stand-alone. In this case, IDirect3DMobileSurface::GetContainerwill return the Direct3D Mobile device used to create the surface.
