Vertices also may include diffuse and specular color components. These color components are specified as 32 bit, ARGB values. In most cases these values are not touched by the transformation process and are forwarded directly to the lighting unit. In the instances where vertex fog computations are required, calculations are performed during the transformation process and the results stored in the alpha component's specular color value.
