HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Task Scheduler5.0
Data type | Range | Default value |
---|---|---|
REG_DWORD | 0 | 1 | 0 |
Removes the Open advanced properties for this task when I click Finish item from last page of the Scheduled Task wizard. As a result, users cannot view or change the properties of newly created tasks.
This entry stores the setting of the Disable Advanced Menu Group Policy. Group Policy adds this entry to the registry with a value of 1 when you enable the Disable Advanced Menu policy. If you disable the policy or set it to Not configured, Group Policy deletes the entry from the registry and the system behaves as though the value is 0.
Value | Meaning |
---|---|
0 | The policy is disabled or not configured. Users can view and change the properties of newly created tasks. |
1 | The policy is enabled. Users cannot view or change the properties of newly created tasks. |
This policy is designed to simplify task creation for beginning users. However, a value of 1 does not prevent users from using the Properties page to view and change the properties of a task.
To change the value of this entry, use Group Policy. This entry corresponds to the Disable Advanced Menu policy (User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Task Scheduler).
Note
This entry can appear in both HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and HKEY_CURRENT_USER. If this entry appears in both subtrees, the value in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE takes precedence over the value in HKEY_CURRENT_USER.
Tip
This entry affects newly created tasks only. To prevent users from changing the properties of existing tasks, use the Property Pages entry.
