Description

Removes the Open advanced properties for this task when I click Finish item from last page of the Scheduled Task wizard. As a result, users cannot view or change the properties of newly created tasks. This setting is designed to simplify task creation for beginning users.

This entry stores the setting of the Disable Advanced Menu Group Policy. Group Policy adds this entry to the registry with a value of 1 when you enable the Disable Advanced Menu policy. If you disable the policy or set it to Not configured, Group Policy deletes the entry from the registry and the system behaves as though the value is 0.

Value Meaning
0 The policy is disabled or not configured. Users can view and change the properties of newly created tasks.
1 The policy is enabled. Users cannot view or change the properties of newly created tasks.

Change method

To change the value of this entry, use Group Policy. This entry corresponds to the Disable Advanced Menu policy (Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Task Scheduler).

This entry can appear in both HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and HKEY_CURRENT_USER. If this entry appears in both subtrees, the value in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE takes precedence over the value in HKEY_CURRENT_USER.

This entry affects newly created tasks only. To prevent users from changing the properties of existing tasks, use Property Pages.
