HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\NWCWorkstation\Parameters\Option\<SID>
Data type | Range | Default value |
---|---|---|
REG_SZ | Server-name | (Blank) |
Specifies the Novell Directory Services (NDS) server that the system tries first when logging the user on to an NDS tree.
If this entry does is not in the registry or the specified server is not available, the system logs the user on the first server in the user's tree and context that responds to the logon request. (The tree and context are stored in the value of PreferredServer).
Specifying a particular server assures that when you log on through a Novell Directory Services (NDS) tree containing more than one NetWare server, that you are authenticated by the same NetWare server that you map to use NetWare resources. As a result, you use only one licensed connection.
Note
This entry is used only when the client is connected to a network that uses Novell Directory Services.
Windows 2000 does not add this entry to the registry. You can add it by editing the registry or by using a program that edits the registry.
