Removes the Windows Security item from the Settings menu on a Terminal Services client.
This entry stores the setting of the Remove security option from Start menu (Terminal Services only) Group Policy. Group Policy adds this entry to the registry with a value of 1 when you enable the Remove security option from Start menu (Terminal Services only) policy. If you disable the policy or do not configure it, Group Policy deletes the entry from the registry.
Value | Meaning |
---|---|
0 (not in registry) | The policy is disabled or not configured. The Windows Security item appears in Settings menu on the Start menu. |
1 | The policy is enabled. The Windows Security item does not appear in Settings menu on the Start menu. As a result, users must type a security attention sequence, such as Ctrl+Alt+End, to open the Windows Security dialog box on a Terminal Services client. |
This policy is designed to prevent inexperienced users from logging on to Terminal Services inadvertently.
To change the value of this entry, use Group Policy. This entry corresponds to the Remove security option from Start menu (Terminal Services only) policy (Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\System).
