Data type | Range | Default value |
---|---|---|
REG_SZ | PathI | Systemroot\debug |
Determines where the File Replication service (FRS) stores its trace log files.
If you change the value of this entry, FRS creates new trace log files in the directory specified, but it does not move existing trace log files to the new location. Also, FRS does delete or maintain log files in the original location.
To make changes to this entry effective, you must stop and restart FRS.
Note
Windows 2000 does not add this entry to the registry. You can add it by editing the registry or by using a program that edits the registry.
Tip
If you have more than one hard drive, you can improve disk performance by storing the FRS trace log files on a different hard drive than the one that stores the FRS database and replica tree.
