HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\(Network adapters) {4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\WAN Miniport (L2TP) <Device-number (000n)>
Data type | Range | Default value |
---|---|---|
REG_DWORD | 0x0 - 0xFFFFFFFF milliseconds | 0x3E8 (1000 milliseconds = 1 second) |
Determines how long the L2TP driver waits for a control message to be acknowledged before retransmitting the message. The value of this entry is used the first time each control messages is sent.
The L2TP driver adjusts this value dynamically depending on the network transmission rate. This entry establishes the maximum waiting time after the first transmission.
Consider increasing this value if the network is very slow and calls are terminated prematurely. However, if this value is too high, system resources can be spent on maintaining circuits for unresponsive peers.
Note
Windows 2000 does not add this entry to the registry. You can add it by editing the registry or by using a program that edits the registry.
