The <printer-name> subkey is a variable representing the subkeys under the Printers subkey. It does not actually appear in the registry. This variable subkey displays information which is common to the subkeys in the Printers subkey.
The <printer-name> subkey in the Print\Printers subkey stores information about local printers.
The entries which appear in this subkey are backup copies, and they are linked to the entries in the Printers SOFTWARE subkey.
Note
This subkey appears only on servers which have local printers. It does not appear on computers that only connect to network printers.
