<interface-name>

HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces\

Description

The <interface-name> subkeys in your registry represent TCP\IP communication interfaces and are named by the network name for the interface. Each subkey represents a particular interface and stores configuration data that applies only to that interface.

Most of the entries described in this file as being stored in the <interface-name> subkey can appear in any of the subkeys in the Interfaces subkey.

Some entries can appear in the Tcpip\Parameters subkey and/or in one or more <interface-name> subkeys. If the entry appears in the Parameters subkey, then it applies to all interfaces by default. If the entry appears in an <interfaces-name> subkey, then it applies only to the interfaces represented by the subkey and takes precedence of the value in the Parameters subkey when configuring this particular interface.

Note Image Note

The <interface-name> subkey is a variable representing the subkeys in the Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces subkey. It doesn't actually appear in the registry. This variable subkey displays the entries and subkeys that are common to many of the subkeys in the Interfaces subkey.
