Running programs in the background

When you connect to a computer that uses Windows Services for UNIX Telnet Server, you can run programs in the background on the server, and they will continue to run even after you disconnect from the server. Use the bgjob command to start such applications.

Note that Task Manager cannot be used to remotely terminate processes started with bgjob; you must use the kill command.

For detailed information about using bgjob, see bgjob. For information about terminating processes, see kill.

For information about how to set Telnet Server to allow programs to run after the user disconnects, see To set the option for running programs when user disconnects.
