To add a computer running Server for NFS to a server cluster, you must install the Cluster service on the computer and configure the computer as the first node of a cluster or as a member of an existing cluster. After the computer has been successfully added to the cluster, you must configure Server for NFS to operate in the cluster. To do this, open a command prompt on the computer, and then type the following:
instclus
After running this command, if there are any network file system (NFS) directories being shared by Server for NFS, you must delete those shares and recreate them as cluster resources. For more information, see To share a directory as a cluster resource.
If there are nodes in the cluster that are not running Server for NFS, you must also install Server for NFS on those nodes. For information about installing Server for NFS on a node of an existing server cluster, see Installing Server for NFS on a server cluster.
If you uninstall Server for NFS from the nodes of the cluster, you might have to delete NFS configuration directories on the drives of each node yourself. The NFS configuration directories are located on every drive as \._nfs.
