To configure User Name Mapping
Notes
To choose password and group authentication and supply required information, type:
mapadmin [computername] [–u user] [–p password] config –d ntDomain –f Passwd/GroupDirectory
To choose NIS authentication and supply required information, type:
mapadmin [computername] [–u user] [–p password] config –d ntDomain –y nisDomain [–n nisServer]
To set how often User Name Mapping will refresh password and group information from the NIS server when using NIS or the passwd and group files when Using PCNFS, type:
mapadmin [computername] [–u user] [–p password] config –r [[days:]hh:]mm
To turn simple mapping on (yes) or off (no), type:
mapadmin [computername] [–u user] [–p password] config –i {yes|no}
Argument | Description |
---|---|
computername | The name of the computer you want to manage. |
user | The name of the user who has administrative permissions on the computer, if different from the current user. |
password | The password for the person who has administrative permissions on the computer, if different from the current user. |
ntDomain | The name of the Windows domain. |
Passwd/GroupDirectory | The fully qualified path of the directory on the User Name Mapping computer where the passwd and group files are located. |
nisDomain | The name of the NIS domain. |
nisServer | The name of the NIS server (optional). |
dddd:hh:mm | How often, in days, hours, and minutes, User Name Mapping will refresh password and group information from the NIS server when using NIS or the passwd and group files when using PCNFS. The minimum refresh interval is five minutes. |
