Removing the Agent for Pocket PC

If an ActiveSync connection exists between the Pocket PC handheld device and the management station, use the Agent Manager for Pocket PC to remove the Agent for Pocket PC. This method can be used regardless of how the agent was installed on the device.

If there is no ActiveSync connection, the method used to remove the agent depends upon how the agent was installed on the device:

• Removing an agent that was installed using a storage card

• Removing an agent that was installed using Web download.

Using the Agent Manager for Pocket PC to remove the agent:

1. Open the <drive>:\Program Files\Symantec\LiveState Delivery\Pocket PC\Agent Manager directory on a computer that has an ActiveSync partnership with the managed device.

2. From Windows Explorer, double-click AgentMgr.exe.

The Symantec LiveState Delivery Agent Manager for Pocket PC screen appears.

3. Click Remove.

You are asked to confirm the removal.

4. Click Yes.

A dialog box appears confirming that the agent has been removed.

5. Click OK.

You can also turn the agent off by disabling it in the agent manager.
