Removing the Agent for Pocket PC from a device without an ActiveSync connection

The way you remove the Agent for Pocket PC depends on whether the agent was installed using a removable storage card, or by downloading a file.

Agent for Pocket PC was installed by downloading a file from the Web

When the Agent for Pocket PC is installed in this manner, an entry for the agent appears in the device's Remove Programs menu.

To remove the agent:

  1. On the device, go to Settings >System > Remove Programs.

  2. Select the Symantec LiveState Agent for Pocket PC and click the Remove button.

This removes the agent from the device. However, the entry for the device remains in the Configuration Database. You  must remove it manually.

  1. Delete the device from the database, using Symantec LiveState Delivery Web Admin or the Symantec Livestate Delivery Command Center.

Agent for Pocket PC was installed with a storage card

When the Agent for Pocket PC is installed using a storage card, the device's Settings> System > Remove Programs menu does not display an entry for the agent.

If there is no ActiveSync connection, the agent can be removed only by running Remove.exe on the device. Remove.exe must be included on the storage card when it was originally set up. See Setting Up a Storage Card.
