Automatic Full Backup
|
An Automatic Full Backup copies all blocks into the backup set.
It skips only the data file blocks that have never been used. Note
that a full backup is not the same as a whole database backup; full
is an indicator that the backup is not incremental.
This type of backup corresponds to an Informix Level-0 backup,
which is a baseline backup.

Automatic Incremental Backup
|
An Automatic Incremental Backup is a backup of only those blocks
that have changed since the last Automatic Full (baseline) backup.
This kind of backup takes less time and space than a full backup
because the Automatic Incremental Backup contains only the changed
data.
This type of backup corresponds to an Informix Level-1
backup.
