Package Execution Schedule

You can set the date and time for package execution when you assign the package to computers. The schedule you set is the earliest time the package can be executed, and the package will not execute before this time. When the date and time occurs, the system checks that the server window and the computer window are open and intersecting to allow the job to be executed. If both the server and computer window are open, then the job is executed. If one or more of the windows are not open, then the Agent for Windows continues to poll (according to the Poll Interval parameter in the Agent for Windows Settings package) until the server window and computer window are open at the same time, and then executes the job.

If you do not set a schedule, then the job is executed as soon as possible, according to the server and computer windows.

The date and time is according to the time on the Configuration Server.

Types of schedules you can make

Description

Execute after a certain date and time

When you set the schedule at assignment time, the package will execute once, after the date and time you specified, according to the server and computer windows.

As recurring jobs

You can set the package to run at the same time on a daily, weekly, monthly, or specified interval basis.

As an emergency job (execute now)

If set, the emergency jobs will be executed immediately, regardless of the server and computer windows. If the emergency job has package dependencies, then those packages are also executed immediately.

Only the jobs set as emergency jobs are executed. If other jobs are assigned at the same time, then they are ignored.
