Importing the configuration data

Rather than manually configure employees, departments, and partitions through the appropriate pages in the Compliance Accelerator client, you can construct an XML file that contains this configuration data and import it into the Compliance Accelerator database. You can use this facility to load either the initial data for your organization or updates to existing data. For instructions on how to construct a properly structured XML file, see the Installation Guide.

In addition, you can use the facility to import predefined hotwords and phrases from some XML files that come with the Compliance Accelerator server software: Hotwords (English).xml and Hotphrases (English).xml. Both of these files are typically in the following folder on the Compliance Accelerator server:

C:\Program Files\Enterprise Vault Business Accelerator\AcceleratorAdminWeb\Installation

You must have the Import Configuration Data permission to import configuration data from an XML file. By default, users with the application role of Compliance System Admin have this permission.

To import configuration data from an XML file

  1. Click the Configuration tab in the Compliance Accelerator client, and then click the Import Configuration tab.

  2. In the Configuration file box, type the full path to the XML file that you want to import, or click Browse and then choose the file to import.

The path can contain up to 250 characters.

You can specify a UNC path or NTFS path to the file if it is stored on a remote computer. For example:

    \\server2\EVBA\import.xml

  3. If you want to clear the import information from previous imports before you proceed, check Clear log before import.

  4. Click Import.
