Status: Check for Vault Stores in backup mode

Problem: One or more Vault Stores are in backup mode.

You must put Enterprise Vault Vault Stores into backup mode for the period that they are being backed up. When the backup is complete you must take the Vault Stores out of backup mode. The backup mode prevents new data from being written into the Vault Stores. This alert indicates that a Vault Store was still in backup mode at the time of the check. The backup mode may cause problems for your users.

Work through the following steps to fix the problem. You may not need to try all the steps.

  1. Make sure that the alert ran at a time when the backup should be complete. Change the alert schedule if necessary.

  2. Your backup procedure may have failed to take the Vault Store out of backup mode. Check whether the backup is still running. If necessary, contact your backup administrator to investigate the backup problem.

  3. When you have corrected the backup problem, take the Vault Store out of backup mode, as follows:

    • In the left pane of the Administration Console, expand the Site.

    • Expand Vault Store Groups.

    • Expand the Vault Store Group that contains the Vault Store that you want to take out of backup mode.

    • Right-click the Vault Store and, on the shortcut menu, click Clear Backup Mode.

  4. Run the checks again to make sure that you have corrected the problem.
