Moving Computers from a CCM 5.1 Server to a CCM 5.4 Server

In order to move a computer from a CCM 5.1 Server to a CCM 5.4 Server, you must use Command Center V1.1 that was shipped with CCM 5.1.  

The following are the general tasks you need to accomplish:

1. Determine the CCM 5.1 packages that are installed on the computer you plan to move.

2. Open the Package Import Tool V1.1 and connect to the CCM 5.1 server and the CCM 5.4 server.

3. Move the CCM 5.1 packages to the CCM 5.4 Package Depot on the target server.

4. Open Command Center V1.1 and connect to the CCM 5.1 server and the CCM 5.4 server.

5. Drag the CCM 5.1 computer to the CCM 5.4 server.

6. When the computer is successfully added to the CCM 5.4 server, update the CCM Windows Agent V5.4 and the CCM Pre-OS Agent packages.

Note: If the computer has been formatted with NTFS, you must reset the computer after the new packages have been installed.

6. If the old CCM 5.1 packages are no longer needed, remove them from the CCM 5.4 Package Depot.
