Here is an overview of what the Administrator does to add computers to CCM:
Adds the computers to the CCM server, which includes defining the computers's identification and security properties.
Defines how the hard disks will be partitioned and formatted.
Installs the appropriate CCM Pre-OS Agent, operating system and network software
Installs the CCM Desktop Agent on Cooperative mode computers
After the administrator saves the CCM jobs, CCM is immediately ready to set up the computer.
The computer is powered manually or is powered remotely with Wired for Management (WfM) The computer's Boot Agent contracts the server and the integration process begins.
For a description of this process, see CCM Integrates a Computer.
For a new server, you identify and add computers that will be managed by the CCM Command Center. You can add computers as Consistent Mode computers or Cooperative Mode computers.
After a computer is added to the CCM database, you can partition and format it and deploy an operating system package and CCM Windows Agent package to it.
