After the CCM administrator has added the computer to the server, defined its disk partitioning, assigned the appropriate Windows agent and saved assigned jobs, the computer is integrated. Here is an overview of what happens during this process.
The computer is powered, either manually or remotely with Wired for Management. The computer's Boot Agent contacts the server and the integration process begins.
CCM downloads a Pre-OS Agent to the computer.
The CCM Pre-OS Agent builds the RAM disk on the computer.
The CCM Pre-OS Agent partitions the computer’s hard drive(s) as defined and reboots the machine.
The CCM Pre-OS Agent formats the computer’s hard drive(s) as defined.
The CCM Pre-OS Agent downloads the CCM Windows Agent to the computer.
The CCM Pre-OS Agent prepares the computer for the operating system and network software installation.
The operating system and network software is installed and the computer reboots.
When all the tasks are completed, the computer restarts, enables the CCM Windows Agent, and displays the ON Command CCM Windows Agent icon in the status bar at the lower right corner of the screen. When you double-click the icon, the ON Command CCM Windows Agent dialog box appears on the computer desktop.
