Backup jobs for the Symantec Protection Network must be created as duplicate jobs. You can duplicate existing backup sets or you can duplicate backup sets immediately following the scheduled job in which they are created.

To create Symantec Protection Network jobs
In the task pane under Backup Tasks, click New job to duplicate backup sets.
Do one of the following in the order listed:
In the Properties pane, under Destination, click Device and Media.
Complete the following options.
In Compression type, click None.
Symantec Protection Network backup jobs do not support hardware compression. If the original backup job used software compression, the Symantec Protection Network job is compressed also.
In the Properties pane, under Settings, click Network and Security.
In Encryption type, click Software.
Symantec Protection Network backup jobs must be encrypted. Symantec Protection Network folders do not support hardware encryption.
If the original backup job was encrypted, the encryption key for the original job is applied to the Symantec Protection Network job.
If you want Backup Exec to notify someone when the backup job completes, in the Properties pane, under Settings, click Notification.
