Xlpd provides the multi-queue feature. Each queue can be set to use different printers and printing options.

To add a new queue:

  1. Open Xlpd main window.
  2. Click the General tab.
  3. Click the Add button.
  4. Insert name for the new queue and then, click OK. Result: Queue Properties dialog box opens up.
  5. In the Queue Properties dialog box, set options.
  6. Click OK.

Note

If the Use default queue when unknown queue request is received option is not selected in the Xlpd server settings, a new queue will be automatically added when a print job is requested from a client with an unknown queue name.

To remove an existing queue:

  1. Open Xlpd main window.
  2. Click the General tab.
  3. Select the queue you want to remove.
  4. Click the Remove button.

Note

The default queue cannot be removed.

To change settings of a queue:

  1. Open Xlpd main window.
  2. Click the General tab.
  3. Select the queue you want to change settings of.
  4. Click the Properties button.
  5. In the Queue Properties window, make appropriate changes.
