Spcheck.exe: Service Pack Checker

Overview | Notes | Syntax | Examples | Related Tools Open Command Prompt

This command-line tool is used by administrators to determine which service pack is installed on a Windows XP, Windows 2000, or Windows NT 4.0 system. SPCheck checks which executable files, dynamic-link libraries, and drivers are installed on the target system. This helps to identify when service packs or hot fixes should be reinstalled and ensures that all installed services are at the appropriate service pack level.
