NoEntireNetwork

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Network

Data type Range Default value
REG_DWORD 0 | 1 0

Description

Removes the Entire Network option and the icons representing networked computers from My Network Places and from the Map Network Drive browser. As a result, users cannot view computers outside of their workgroup or local domain in lists of network resources in Windows Explorer and My Network Places.

This entry stores the setting of the No "Entire Network" in My Network Places Group Policy. Group Policy adds this entry to the registry with a value of 1 when you enable the policy. If you disable the policy or set it to Not configured, Group Policy deletes the entry from the registry and the system behaves as though the value is 0.

Value Meaning
0 (or not in registry) The policy is disabled or not configured. The Entire Network option appears.
1 The policy is enabled. The Entire Network option is removed.

This entry does not prevent users from viewing or connecting to computers in their workgroup or domain. It also does not prevent users from connecting to remote computers by other commonly used methods, such as typing the share name in the Run dialog box or the Map Network Drive dialog box.

Change method

To change the value of this entry, use Group Policy. This entry corresponds to the No "Entire Network" in My Network Places policy (User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Windows Explorer).
