Description

Removes links to the Support Info dialog box.

This entry stores the setting of the Disable Support Information Group Policy. Group Policy adds this entry to the registry with a value of 1 when you enable the policy. If you disable the policy or set it to Not configured, Group Policy deletes the entry from the registry and the system behaves as though the value is 0.

Value Meaning
0 (or not in registry) The policy is disabled or not configured. The Support Info hyperlink appears.
1 The policy is enabled. The Support Info hyperlink is removed.

Programs listed on the Change or Remove Programs page can include a Click here for support information hyperlink. When clicked, the hyperlink opens a dialog box that displays troubleshooting information, including a link to the installation files, and data that users need to obtain product support, such as the Product ID and version number of the program. The dialog box also includes a hyperlink to support information on the Internet, such as the Microsoft Product Support Services Web page.

Change method

To change the value of this entry, use Group Policy. This entry corresponds to the Disable Support Information policy (User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Control Panel\Add/Remove Programs).
