Description

Removes the Change or Remove Programs button from the Add/Remove Programs bar. As a result, users cannot view or change the attached page.

This entry stores the setting of the Hide Change or Remove Programs page Group Policy. Group Policy adds this entry to the registry with a value of 1 when you enable the policy. If you disable the policy or set it to Not configured, Group Policy deletes the entry from the registry and the system behaves as though the value is 0.

Value Meaning
0 (or not in registry) The policy is disabled or not configured. The Change or Remove Programs page is available to all users.
1 The policy is enabled. The Change or Remove Programs button is removed from the Add/Remove Programs bar. As a result, users cannot view or change the attached page.

The Change or Remove Programs button lets users uninstall, repair, add, or remove features of installed programs.

Change method

To change the value of this entry, use Group Policy. This entry corresponds to the Hide Change or Remove Programs page policy (User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Control Panel\Add/Remove Programs).

This entry does not prevent users from using other tools and methods to delete or uninstall programs.
