Description

Adds specified Web content items to the desktop, and prevents users from permanently deleting these items.

Users can close or delete the items (if policies allow), but the items are added again each time the policy is refreshed.

This entry stores the item you type in the Add box of the Add/Delete items Group Policy. Group Policy adds this entry to the registry when you enable the Add/Delete items policy. If you disable the policy or set it to Not configured, Group Policy deletes the entry from the registry.

Change method

To change the value of this entry, use Group Policy. This entry corresponds to the Add/Delete items policy (User Configuration\AdministrativeTemplates\Desktop\Active Desktop).

Note

Items removed from the value of this entry are not deleted from the desktop. They are just not added again if a user deletes them.

To make changes to this entry effective, you must log off of Windows 2000 and then log on again.
