IGMPIdle

HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\NdisWan\Parameters

Data type Range Default value
REG_DWORD 0 | 1 1

Description

Determines whether NdisWan drivers consider Internet Group Management Protocol (IGMP) packets to be valid communications traffic.

Many servers send IGMP packets periodically to prevent a quiet, but active line from being mistaken for an idle line. These packets can be misinterpreted as communication. They can also prevent a truly idle line from being disconnected.

Value Meaning
0 IGMP packets are considered to be valid communications traffic that keeps a line active.
1 IGMP packets are filtered out and not counted as valid communications traffic.
