Description

The HKEY_CURRENT_CONFIG subtree (HKCC) stores configuration data for the current hardware profile.

The HKEY_CURRENT_CONFIG subtree does not contain any data. It just stores a pointer to the content of the Current subkey of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Hardware Profiles. As such, the contents of the Current subkey appear in HKEY_CURRENT_CONFIG and can be viewed and changed in either location. This subtree provides easier access to this data.
