Description

Specifies the accounting provider used to record dial-up connection data in a log file. This entry stores the GUID of the accounting provider you select by using the Routing and Remote Access snap-in.

Windows is the default accounting provider, but you can use the Routing and Remote Access snap-in to select an alternate accounting provider.

The following accounting providers are included in Windows 2000

• {1AA7F840-C7F5-11D0-A376-00C04FC9DA04} represents the RADIUS accounting provider.
• {1AA7F846-C7F5-11D0-A376-00C04FC9DA04} represents the Windows accounting provider.

Entries specific to these providers are stored in the following subkeys in RemoteAccess\Accounting\Providers:

• {1AA7F840-C7F5-11D0-A376-00C04FC9DA04} (RADIUS accounting provider subkey)
• {1AA7F846-C7F5-11D0-A376-00C04FC9DA04} (Windows accounting provider subkey)

Change method

To change the value of this entry, use Routing and Remote Access. Right-click the name of the server, click Properties, click the Security tab and select a provider from the Accounting provider drop-down box.

To change the value of this entry, use Routing and Remote Access. Do not edit the registry.
