This entry is added to the registry, but it is not used. In Windows NT 4.0 and earlier, the mouse port driver used this entry to locate pointer port device objects. In Windows 2000, the mouse port driver locates non-Plug-and-Play pointing devices by using entries in the Devicemap subkey (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Hardware\Devicemap\PointerClass).
