Description

Determines how long an entry recording a negative answer to a query remains in the DNS cache. When the time specified in the value expires, the DNS client the deletes answer record from the cache.

Activation method

To make changes to this entry effective, restart the DNS client service or restart Windows 2000.

Note Image Note

This entry does not apply to queries for SOA records. The maximum cache time for negative SOA records is determined by the value of NegativeSOACacheTime.
